Development platform 01Ambient TileUpdated 07 / 2026

The acoustic interface for noninvasive BCI.

Ambient
Tile

Industrial design concept of a dense ultrasound tile on a graphite rigid-flex interposer.
Development object / industrial design study / not a manufactured device

A dense CMUT tile, flexible-film carrier, near-array electronics, and open acquisition path—designed as one head-native system.

Discuss a development program

01Physical assembly

The aperture is not a part.
It is the product.

Ambient begins with a selected system thesis: rigid CMUT acoustic islands on a flexible-film carrier. The active surface stays dimensionally stable while the complete aperture conforms.

Architecture study / layers separated for explanation

  1. A

    CMUT tile

Dense semiconductor acoustic array on a dimensionally stable island.

  2. B

    Flexible-film carrier

Thin interposer routes power, timing, and signals while the aperture follows the head.

  3. C

    Coupling layer

Replaceable interface designed to make contact and placement repeatable.

  4. D

    Near-array electronics

Low-noise receive, digitization, sensing, and selectable reduction beside the tile.

  5. E

    Clock + data

Deterministic synchronization and coherent developer access across tiles.

02Signal path

Reduce the bandwidth.
Preserve the experiment.

The embedded platform reduces data beside the aperture without forcing every program through one fixed image pipeline.

04Design-partner program

Build the experiment
existing probes cannot.

A focused development program connects one measured hardware limitation to one physical prototype and one clear next decision.
